If you’d like more information on EV-DO technology, which promises laptop users blazing speed over cellular networks, look no further than David Pogue’s excellent story in the New York Times. He does a really good job of explaining with EV-DO is and what it promises, as well as highlights some of the cellular cards you would need to plug into your laptop’s PC card slot. He does point out that the service is pricey—$80 a month, but Verizon Wireless is the only kid on the block to offer EV-DO, so they can get away with it. We’ll see what happens when debuts its own service later this year.
